The intention behind ClipboardManager is to provide your system with additional functionalities, particularly those which are not readily available from its built-in clipboard utility. Using the Clipboard Manager is not difficult at all. In this respect, there is a sort of contextual menu from where you can execute the most common actions directly from the active application. Besides, the tool responds to global keyboard shortcuts as well as mouse swipes. What is more, there is the possibility of simply dragging and dropping the desired item to the exact place where you want to insert it.

Luckily, clippings are automatically stored on your clipboard history. Good news is that it supports nearly all kinds of the contents you can manage with your system’s clipboard utility. Considering that the list of items may eventually get very long, good news is there are multiple ways by which you can organize them. Thus, you will not have any difficulty to find them when you need them. First, you can use the application’s search box or filter them by source apps. Likewise, you can mark some as favorites and organize them into folders. On top of that, ClipboardManager can conveniently order clippings based on their frequency of use.

There are many advantages in using ClipboardManager as a substitute of the system’s clipboard utility. Let us take a look at a few. First, you can have the chance to preview the contents of a particular clipping before deciding to paste it. Second, in the case of formatted texts, it is allowed to remove formatting so that they match the target context. Third, the application supports working with multiple clippings at the same time, which comes in especially handy when pasting various items is needed. Fourth, this tool also supports sharing clippings with other users. Finally, I love the possibility to use AppleScript or Automator Workflow to create custom actions.

If you are somewhat concerned about your privacy in case anyone gets to know about what you have been copying to the clipboard, you should be relieved, as you can simply create a list of ignored applications and even types of contents.

All in all, extending your clipboard’s functionalities may have a huge positive impact on your work efficiency, mainly because you can recycle a longer list of clippings. However, in my opinion, it is a pity that this utility may get increasingly slow as the history grows in length. The product can be bought from the Mac App Store. However, it may be a good idea to take a look at other similar apps available there because some of them may be purchased at a lower price.
