Blinky is a word processor with a retro look. You can use this simple yet efficient Mac utility whenever you wish to write a journal article, to-do lists or content for your novel, in a distraction-free environment and an interface that helps you boost your creativity.
The application lets you choose from multiple stylized fonts, comes with fullscreen mode, and provides you with various screen themes. What's more, you can configure the display settings according to your needs. For instance, the app lets you adjust the level of window transparency, glow, flicker or hue shift.
Even the mouse cursor has its own options. The app can display the cursor as a block, underline or vertical line. All app settings are available within its main menu or Preferences panel and can easily be configured, even by users with little computer experience.
Once you finish writing, the app lets you export the document as a TXT file or save it as a screenshot. Unfortunately, there's a limited number of output formats (only TXT and PNG).
Nevertheless, Blinky brings you an original and old-school feel, plenty of text style settings, and a very intuitive interface. In addition, you don't have to pay a buck in order to use it on your computer.
