BetterZip is an archive file manager developed for Mac users who wish to easily compress and extract archives on their computers. The application works with various archive file formats, supports drag-and-drop actions, and provides you with a quick way to encrypt compressed data.
Unlike Mac's default archive manager, this program comes with an actual interface. All built-in functions are listed on the main toolbar of the utility. Also, the output settings for both data compression and archive extraction are very simple to configure and require minimum computer experience to be configured.
Other useful features include the app's ability to batch extract archives, access to an effective search tool, and support for multiple archive formats.
In my testing, I noticed a couple of issues. For starters, it might take a while to compress files with BetterZip. Also, the program still needs to extract the contents of your archives in order to let you preview what's inside the selected compressed file.
All in all, I think you should try a different archive file manager. You can find cheaper and better tools for compressing data and extracting archives on your Mac.
