Battery Charging Alert is intended to prolong your battery life. In this respect, it can issue alerts on given battery-related events, which prevents battery dying due to accidentally unplugging the power source. The application is very unobtrusive and runs from the Menu Bar. It is shown as an icon there and, optionally, it can also be displayed as a Dock icon.
The tool allows you to choose between two types of interfaces: panel or standard window. It is very easy to configure. In fact, most of the times all you need to do is check the desired option. For instance, you can pick those events that will cause the application to play a chime sound, which includes connecting or disconnecting charge cables and battery draining below a specific value. Good news is that you can use customized sound effects for those events, including an additional warning when the charge reaches a certain level.
Moreover, there are options to decide how the tool’s icon is displayed. In this regard, you have the choice to simply hide the battery icon. Similarly, you can show the current battery charge level, optionally as percentage. Finally, you can enable sending system notifications.
All in all, Battery Charging Alert can contribute to extending your battery life while also preventing sudden battery drain-outs. Unfortunately, once while I was using it, the tool stopped working and just disappeared from the Menu Bar. This product can be bought from the Mac App Store.
