Bartender is a program designed for Mac users who wish to keep their Menu Bars organized and clean of unnecessary icons. This application also comes in handy whenever you need to record a video tutorial and it's imperative to hide the items within your Menu Bar.
In order to manage your Menu Bar icons you need to enter your Mac's administrator credentials. Hence, only you or any other user that is authorized to work on your computer can make any alterations to the appearance of the Menu Bar.
Within the Menu Items panel of the program you can find two lists of icons which can be found on your Menu Bar. The first group contains the default Mac icons (Bluetooth, Wireless, sound volume, etc.) and the second one lists all third-party items. You can hide them from your Menu Bar or include them into the Bartender drop-down menu.
A good aspect is that this program also informs you whenever there's a new version available for the apps with icons on your Menu Bar.
Another thing I like about this application is the fact that it allows you to define global hotkeys for revealing Bartender's main window and all Menu Bar icons.
To summarize, I'd say it's definitely worth working with Bartender if you wish to maintain a tidy Menu Bar. The program is very simple to use, offers easy to configure settings, and comes with a fair price.
