Ball Runner 2 is a 3D arcade game in which you control a ball. The premise of the game is simple, but controlling the ball isn't easy at all. Your objective is to collect a specific number of other balls and diamonds per level. You collect diamonds by running the ball into them. The first difficulty that you face is with the controls. You move the ball with the arrow keys and control lateral movement with the mouse. But even after you let go of the controls, the ball will continue moving, so you have to steer the ball all the time. When the ball falls off the platform, you lose a life. When you hit a bomb, you will lose points. Hitting bombs also makes controlling the ball considerably harder. The first five stages are very similar: once you collect the number of items, you need to exit the level through a portal. But after those levels, new obstacles are added, and you will also be shot at with cannons.
The graphics are made in 3D but the quality isn't the best I have seen in a video game. The camera follows you around the level fine, but sometimes it is hard to see what is ahead of you while you are steering the ball. The music is nice, but the soundtrack has songs that vary quite a lot one from the other. You might be listening to a soothing song one moment and rock music after that.
In short, Ball Runner 2 is a simple arcade game that can get challenging. It has a lot of levels and different obstacles.
- It can be challenging
- Controlling is difficult
- The music is annoying
