Description
The Bagpipe Player is an app for macOS uses very popular format BWW BMW ABC - files for writing music of the bagpipe.
Basic functions: show files as musical notes sheet, for playing and printing.
The app useful to learn new tunes.
Bagpipe Player play tunes like Great Highland Bagpipe with drones and embellishments.
Authentic sound sampled from real GHB and Practice chanter.
Ability to change:
- sound of the practice chanter or bagpipe;
- sound of the drones;
- sound volume of drones and chanter;
- change duration of the grace notes;
- change tempo;
- change tone of the sound from -5 to +5 halftone;
- change height of the music staff;
- change background for the sheet of notes;
There is an ability:
- create PDF, print and email it;
- do delay begin of playback for training;
- highlight a section of the tune and repeat it;
- turn on sound of the metronome;
Remember tap on button (i) you get info about control in the app.
The Bagpipe Player copies some bww files to the folder "~Music/Bagpipe Player" for demonstration purpose and training. These files got from open sources of the internet.
I think app Bagpipe Player will be useful for beginners and professional bagpipers to learn new tunes.
The Bagpipe Player was created for everybody who loves sound of the bagpipe and wants learning and playing.

What a great app!!!
This app was such a find for me. I now use it every day during my practice. It allows me to hear a new song before I set our to learn it. It also allows me to make edits to songs if I need to. I can create new songs using the handy editor.
The author of this app is a pleasure to communicate with and is very responsive in answering any questions.
This app is a must have for those learning to play the bagpipes.
Initial Impressions
You should……no, NEED to be proud of yourself! Been longing for this app to be on the Mac desktop. So far it is everything I hoped for. Have not tried to import other bww formatted songs yet. I can’t thank you enough for doing this. Comes at a very good time in my learning. You deserve much success with this.
Minimum Viable Product...Lots Missing
Using a Mac I've been long searching for a way to use my thousands of old .bww and .bmw files. I was happy to see this option. While it will give you the ability to read, edit, and play bagpipe tunes; it is missing several important features of the old Bagpipe Player and Bagpipe Writer programs.
-You can't select portions of a tune to play. You have to listen to the whole thing.
-You can't choose where to start or even pause while playing a tune.
-It insists on printing two pages. No matter how much you shrink the text it won't print less than two pages.
-It will only open bmw/bww files from its own directory. Sure, this is probably a security setting but it is annoying.

1. you will be very surprised if you make a long right mouse click on the stave... this function is there!
3. change the note size and you get 1 page, half page, quarter page..
4. Doing double click on file bmw/bww/abc file on any folders you open this file in app. own directory - it's politics apple...
