AVCWare DVD Ripper Standard is a video conversion tool. It can be used to convert your DVD movies to video files that you can play on your computer or other multimedia playback devices. This ripper comes with quite a few conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings that are optimized for specific devices. You will find profiles for all of Apple's devices, some Android phones and tablets, mobile phones, gaming consoles like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP, and others.
When you load a DVD movie, either out of the disc or a folder on your hard drive, all the titles that make up the movie will be listed on the screen. You can select which ones you want to convert and choose a format (even a different one) for each of them. If you want to hard-code subtitles onto your converted video file, you can select the language that you want from the subtitles drop-down menu. You can also choose an audio language if multiple ones are available in your movie.
I like that this application puts the estimated output size of your titles next to them. This is a very nice feature that is starting to make its way into converters and rippers. It is quite helpful to know how big a file will be before converting it without resorting to bit rate calculators.
Unfortunately, this app doesn't seem to have a video editor that you can use to trim or crop your videos. This is a feature that most DVD rippers have. You can split videos, but that is not the same.
