Audirvana is an elegant and well designed audio player aimed mainly at music lovers. With a graphic interface that resembles an audio station, the application has little in terms of features but it does shine when it comes to the quality of the sound. And most importantly, it's free of charge.

The utility includes a playlist with support for a wide range of popular audio formats: FLAC, WAV, AAC, MP3, AIFF as well as other QuickTime formats. Playback controls are also available for the most basic actions along with a digital volume slider. The track display centers the layout with details regarding artist, composer, track and many other details.

Users can set tracks to repeat and loop once the playlist is finished playing. Audirvana may run in a more unobtrusive manner in the Dock by turning off the display.

The application's Preferences panel reveals a choice of interface themes, support for remote control from either Apple IR Remote or keyboard media keys, audio system and filter settings for reaching the best possible sound output.

All in all, Audirvana is the ideal player for users who want to listen to their favorite music in a setting closely resembling the look and quality of their external devices.

The design is the thing that attracts attention in this program. As its function is not that diverging, it is for those, who evaluate the visual side of the program more than its working characteristics.
