Review

AppMenuBoy is created to provide a simple way of accessing all programs installed in the Applications folder. The utility sits in the Dock and expands the whole list of applications in an hierarchical manner. This used to be a default behavior of the Dock in older Mac systems prior to Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). AppMenuBoy restores it but only for the Applications list.

The application works just as intended but that doesn't really make it worth getting. Hierarchical menus certainly make for a very quick navigation among folders structures. In spite of that, the Applications folder usually has a flat structure with very few programs installed as directories (by default only Utilities). Moreover, using a keyboard shortcut you can quickly bring up the Applications folder (Shift + Command + A) even if it's with Finder.

When displaying the hierarchical menu, AppMenuBoy automatically filters out only applications and folders that contain just one app inside (only shows the application inside without displaying the folder).

The utility should please most Tiger nostalgics who miss the old hierarchical menu; however this won't speed up access to the Applications folder, but simply offer an alternative.
