AppKiller is a Mac utility designed to help you shut down running processes directly from your Menu Bar. This program comes without a price tag, works fast, and uses minimum CPU resources while operating in your Menu Bar.
By clicking its icon from your status bar you will reveal the main screen which gives you access to a list of running processes and to a number of operations it can complete. Simply select a process from the list and choose the correspondent task type. AppKiller will immediately complete the given task.
The thing is macOS already provides you with a utility that helps you shut down running processes: Activity Monitor. This default program brings you more features than AppKiller and works 100%. For example, Activity Monitor comes with a built-in search tool which proves to be of good use if you want to immediately find a running process and shut it down. It's also useful if you're dealing with a large number of running processes.
So, personally, I'd prefer using Mac's tool instead of installing and running a third-party utility that doesn't bring much to the table.
Still, it's up to you to decide if AppKiller is the right tool for you or not. You have nothing to lose if you decide to give it a try on your Mac computer.
