Aiseesoft Nokia Converter for Mac is a video conversion tool that can be used to convert pretty much any video file into formats that are supported by different Nokia cellphones. The oldest Nokia phones can only play 3GP files, but newer models have incorporated support for H.264, MPEG-4, FLV and even AVI. The application can also convert videos to audio files, which discards the video track. This can be very useful when you want to convert a music video or a movie soundtrack to play it on your device. The supported audio formats are AAC, AC3 and WAV. Interestingly, MP3 is missing.
The graphical user interface is identical to the one used in all the other Aiseesoft video converters. You will see some on-screen instructions on how to use the app before you load your files. On the right, you will see a basic video player that you can use to view your files before conversion. This player has the ability to take snapshots of your videos in the JPEG format. At the bottom, you will find the conversion selection drop-down menu. There, you will find a list of conversion profiles for different Nokia cellphone models. Or you can choose a format from the "General Video" category and change conversion settings manually.
- A few conversion profiles for Nokia devices
- Nice interface
- Video editor
- Video player
- Not the best value when other converters also come with profiles for Nokia cellphones and don't restrict output formats so heavily
