Airfoil is a program that provides you with a solution for streaming audio content from your computer all around your network. For example, you can use it to play your Mac's iTunes music on the Apple TV from the other room.
The utility brings you easy-to-configure connection settings. All you need to do is to select the source and streaming destination. Airfoil also comes with an integrated equalizer to help you adjust various sound levels according to your needs.
Another advantage is that you also have access to a small menu in your status bar which helps you immediately switch sources or streaming destinations.
Two things bother me about this program. Firstly, you need to download and install additional tools in order to unlock certain features, such as streaming content from your web browser. Another disadvantage is that, in my testing, I experienced occasionally disrupted the signal.
In conclusion, you should first test the program on your Mac, see how it works, and then decide if it's worth buying it. You might not encounter the same issues as I have.
