Gin Rummy is an enjoyable card game which is played by two players. The players (the computer and you) take turns to play and the objective is to form groups of three or more cards of the same rank, or cards of the same suit in a consecutive order. All the other cards with no match (either in your hand or the other player's), are called the deadwood.
Your hand forms melds and deadwoods, and your goal in the game is to reduce the deadwood points. Melds are 3 or 4 cards of the same rank, or 3 or more cards of the same suit in sequence. Melds cannot overlap so one card cannot belong to two melds. The remaining cards that cannot be matched are called deadwoods.
