Acc ScreenGrab Free provides you with an easy solution to take captures of your screen. In addition, the application works as a screenshot file manager.
The interface is straightforward and intuitive, consisting of a preview of your screenshots and a list panel that helps you navigate through the files you just saved. As most similar programs, Acc ScreenGrab Free allows you to capture the entire screen, a specific area, or a selected window. You have two ways of taking a screenshot: either by pressing the toolbar's buttons or by using hot-keys. If you prefer the second method, you can use the keyboard shortcuts provided by default or you can customize them differently, to best suit your needs.

A good feature of this program refers to its ability to take timed captures. This way, it can capture and save screenshots at given time intervals. Unfortunately, the options are limited – you can't configure your own time frames. Instead, you need to choose one of the program's presets which let you save the shots at every 3, 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds, and as JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or BMP file formats.

The program is good and lightweight. It allows you to organize your captures into folders, set a pattern to name the image files automatically, but it doesn't provide any additional options whatsoever. It doesn't come with any editing features – not even the basic ones – or with an option to compress the images. It seems that all the advanced functions have been left for the pro version. However, if you intend to use it just for taking screenshots, the program will work fine.
