4Videosoft iPhone 4 Transfer for Mac is a complete iPhone backup utility. The program lets you download content from your iPhone anf both download and upload content to it. You can do this for free using iTunes, but some people don't like using iTunes and some people need to download content from their phones when they are away from home, and syncing your iPhone on another computer can be a pain in the neck.
There are two versions of this app: Standard and Ultimate. The difference is that the Standard version only lets you download a few types of data, and the Ultimate one doesn't restrict what you can download. The Ultimate version also comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop videos and adjust some of their properties.
Although the software has the word iPhone in its name, other devices are supported as well. I tested this both with an iPhone and an iPod Touch, and both were detected just fine. By the way, iPad might also be supported.
While testing, I was able to both upload and download files with no problems. Keep in mind that the trial versions limit the number of files that you can transfer. But you can still see if the app works for you before buying.
