This program is, as its name says, a download manager for Mac that enables you to fetch video clips from YouTube website with minimum effort. The application brings you plenty of useful features, such as support for batch processing, the ability to find videos directly from its interface, and the fact that it's available in many languages, etc.
All you need to do in order to download YouTube videos is provide the URLs of the clips you wish to save on your Mac and select the output folder. The app immediately starts downloading the videos and, after a few moments (depending on your Internet connection signal), you can watch them using your media player app.
After trying several similar applications, 4Media YouTube HD Video Downloader doesn't seem to be the smartest solution for grabbing videos from the aforementioned source. One of the reasons behind this statement is the fact that it supports only one output format (MP4).
Another aspect I don't like about this Mac utility is that its built-in browser fails to play any videos from YouTube. It doesn't display any error, it just shows a blank screen after you click the Play button.
Taking into consideration the aforementioned flaws, I'd say it's not worth buying this app for your Mac. However, if these disadvantages don't mean much to you, you could try the demo version of 4Media YouTube HD Video Downloader and check if it matches your requirements.
