4Media Video Cutter is a standalone video trimmer. It works very similarly to the trimming feature of the video editors that come with 4Media's video converters, but this one has a few extra features. First, a trimmer is a video editing tool that lets you extract a segment of a video and turn it into a separate video clip. To do this, you load your video file and use the "set start point" and "set ending point", you select a segment of your video file. After it is done, you can play your selection to make sure that you got the right one, and then you can proceed to the output settings. By default, your trimmed segment will be exported in the same format it originally was encoded in, but you can select a different format for your video and the app will convert it to that format. There are even conversion profiles available for devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and other mobile phones and multimedia playback devices.
In my testing, I used this cutter to trim a 52-minute long video into a 1-minute clip. The video was encoded using the DivX codec and it had AC3 audio. Unfortunately, the segment of the video that I cut had audio-video sync problems.
