4Media DVD to iPhone Converter is a commercial DVD ripper. It can be used to convert DVD movies into video or audio files that can be played on the Apple iPhone and many other devices out there. The application comes with six video conversion profiles: three use H.264, two MPEG-4 and the remaining one MOV. Those formats can be played on any Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, etc.
The app has one of the best designs I have seen from commercial rippers that make the switch from Windows to the Mac. Although the layout is the same in both the Windows and Mac versions, the graphics are better done. The only problem I found with this tool is that it still uses an installation wizard on the Mac. Other apps let you simply run the .app file from the DMG archive or to drop it to your Applications folder.
4Media DVD to iPhone Converter has most of the features that I often see in converters like this one. The only ones that I don't see are a video editor, and the ability to trim your videos to make them shorter. Though you can split video files in different sizes if you want.
In terms of performance, this works pretty well. It is on par with other solutions in speed. It produces good quality files and it is stable.
