TuneUp is an easy-to-use piece of software developed by TuneUp Media and it is used for cleaning iTunes library and retrieving information about the songs in the library. It was designed for iTunes and when you open TuneUp, it will automatically launch iTunes too. It comes with an appealing interface, a modern design and an easy-to-use menu that will grant the Mac users quick access to all of the features. First thing I noticed when starting the application was the long time it takes to load and become fully usable.
The tool comes with support for drag&drop actions, which allows the users to save time from browsing directories while searching for the files. The application allows the users to choose between four basic tools: clean, cover art, deduper and Tuniverse. The cleaning tool will remove files that were originally deleted and still included in the playlist, but it also has a powerful tool for retrieving information about tracks that are unnamed or untagged. The cover art allows the users to retrieve missing cover art from the albums. Deduper will find duplicate files, and it allows the Mac users to keep the file with the best quality. The Tuniverse shows upcoming concerts around the world based on the user's input, but also has a tab that allows the users to share their achievements on Facebook with their friends
All in all, TuneUp is a great tool for keeping your iTunes clean, reliable and with the right information about your tracks.
- Powerful tool for retrieving information about nameless or tagless tracks
