Time Zone Icon is an application that helps you to be aware of the time around the world. It puts an extra clock on your menubar which you can use to keep track of the time in another location. If you have ever worked with someone who lives in another time zone, then you know how important having a world clock is. This app lets you add more than one location, although only one will be shown in the menubar. The information given on the menubar is the time and the time zone. If you click on the icon, you will see a list of all the clocks that you have added, and on this new menu, you will also see the city name. It would be great if you could customize the program to show the city on the menubar. Also, the app description on the Mac App Store states that it can also show weather information. This feature is in the Preferences window, from where you check a box next to each city to enable weather information for it. Unfortunately, I was not able to get this feature to work. Whenever I did click on the box to check it, nothing happened. I restarted the app and checked again, but to no avail.
Time Zone Icon comes with a very useful time calculator. With this tool, you add two UTC time zones and the application will calculate the time difference and tell you what time it is in another region of the world. You can also use time zone names instead of the UTC format.
