Sweet Home 3D is a program that enables you to create home interior design projects with ease. The application was created so that any Mac user, no matter the experience level in handling a computer and creating interior design plans, can easily get quality results with minimum effort.
The built-in help manual will provide you with all the information you could possibly require to start creating your project. After you draw the room or house plan (walls, windows, floor, etc.), you can start using drag-and-drop actions to add furniture and other elements to your project. All of the used components will be listed on the bottom-left side of the interface.
Once you finish altering your design, you can preview each part of your project (list of objects, 2D and 3D representation) and print it with just a few clicks.
My only problem with this program is the fact that it supports a limited amount of output formats when it comes to exporting the design project. The 2D representation of your project can be saved as SVG files and a 3D drawing can be exported as an OBJ file. The list of items included in your project can be saved as a CSV file. Mac OS X doesn't provide you with a default tool for opening these 3 types of files and you need to download and install third-party apps to view them on your Mac.
Still, this application comes without a price tag and provides you with a wide variety of useful features. I'd say you should give it a try if the aforementioned flaw doesn't mean much to you.
