Subliminal is a program that was created for Mac users to help them focus on their goals as well as keep them motivated. The application lets you enter your own motivational messages, like "Drink more water", "Be happy", "Quit smoking" or "Work faster".
You also have access to several sample messages which you can edit or remove from your list. The utility lets you choose which memos to be displayed on your desktop, select the preferred interval of time between the messages, and customize the font settings according to your needs.
Subliminal provides you with an option to test its capabilities. In the Preferences panel you will find a Slow Motion Test button and a countdown timer on its left. After you click the button and the timer hits zero, the application displays a random subliminal message on your desktop.
In my testing, the application worked OK except one thing: it displayed the messages for a very small period of time on my screen.
However, the human brain can process the information, even if you only get a glimpse from the subliminal message.
In conclusion, Subliminal is a helpful Mac application that can help you stay motivated and improve your productivity. It's very simple to configure, uses minimum CPU resources, and comes with a fair price.
