A very nice application, allows you to stay in touch over long distances. And if you do not need conference calls, or landline/mobile calls, it is absolutely free to use. For me this is quite enough.

Works fine in Windows, but I faced troubles dealing with this app on a Mac, so I'm not quite satisfied. Still, it's indispensable when you need to work remotely.

It is the most popular chat app among my friends. It is very comfortable to use. I like that the options available for free are enough to feel what the app can do, and if you want more, you have to pay (like to call to phones). Yup, I like it.

osx version of skype is the best of all desktop platforms. linux version is very old, windows version is overloaded with various features

I don't think Skype will last for long after Facebook introduces its video chat, which is, by the way, developed by Skype. What's the use of a standalone application, if you can get the same functionality in the emerging biggest media hub on Earth? Just give it some time, give it some time.
