Silicio is a Mac OS software, developed by Jan Bolz, that lets users listen to music, either streamed or local, while also manage songs for popular apps like iTunes, Spotify, Deezer or Vox.
The application can easily be downloaded and installed from the App Store. Once you start Silicio, you discover that its interface is rather small, compared to nowadays applications, which can be considered a plus because it uses a small amount of desktop space. The main theme can be considered minimalist because of its rather common black and grey color mixture. Unfortunately, its secondary theme looks almost the same. One neat thing about the interface is that that player size can be adjusted, from small to large.
When it comes to its capabilities, Silicio embeds lots of cool features. It includes Touch Bar Support so that users can control their music easily. More, it is able to integrate Last.fm and that allows individuals to play songs from their Last.fm profile.
Furthermore, it has built-in keyboard shortcuts, Love and Dislike song function, and it lets users share what song they're playing on social media services like Twitter.
All in all, Silicio is a modern and cool music player that allows users to manage songs from different platforms into one app. The only cons are outmoded playback controls and lack of support for Tidal or Google Play Music.
Despite those minor cons, Silicio is free and highly enjoyable, so you should definitely give it a try.
