PressReader is a simple Mac application that gives you access to the digital versions of various newspapers from all over the world. The program comes with a straightforward interface, has an efficient search tool, and is available in various languages.
The integrated search utility helps you immediately find the magazines you wish to read on your computer. You can also go to the Titles panel, select the newspaper you wish to download from the given list (By Country or By Language), and let the program get the magazine you need. You don't need Mac's default image viewer (Preview) or a third-party application in order to read the downloaded content. You can read the newspapers directly from the program's interface.
The application also features options to zoom in or out the text content from the magazines, support for text-to-speech technology (can read the news for you), and the ability to automatically download new magazines as soon as they get published.
Unfortunately, PressReader regularly runs slow. In my opinion, the website version of the application (which can be accessed in your default browser) seems to a better choice than working with the PressReader utility on your desktop. So, it doesn't worth installing this application on your computer.
However, the program is free of charge and you have nothing to lose if you decide to give it a try on your Mac.
