Praat is a powerful, yet easy-to-use tool developed by Paul Boersma and it allows Mac users to analyze sounds and speeches. It also provides tools for sound and speech synthesis. It comes with an appealing interface and a well-organized menu that will help Mac users to quickly access all of the features.

What impresses on the analyzer is the fact that it is very customizable, as it allows the users to make changes on virtually anything, from appearance to sounds, formats, outputs, and etc. It allows the users to record or load a sound or a long-sound, and then perform multiple analyzes on it, showing registers of voice, the duration of the sound, spectrum, pitch, and other parameters. Using this feature-rich application is like having a professional recording studio and more. It also provides an accurate calculator which allows the users to make complicated calculations with the simple input of the formula. What makes this piece of software different from other similar applications is that it supports high user customization, as it even lets the users choose what buttons they like to see and what are to be hidden.

All taken into consideration, Praat is a complete tool for sound recording and analyzing; it is free, it comes with an appealing interface and an easy-to-use menu that will grant the users quick access to all of the features.
