Info updated on:

PinPoint is a Mac application for users who require to locate the mouse pointer on their desktop. This program was developed to help you work with dual monitors or presentations, when you can't find the mouse pointer on the screen.

The app provides you with numerous mouse pointer animations which you can customize to match your needs. For instance, you can adjust the transparency level, speed and size of the animated image. In addition, the program allows you to select when to activate the animations (Always On, On while Moving, and On while Idle).

Only one thing bothers me while working with PinPoint: it has high CPU usage. Even if you toggle off PinPoint (the animation around the mouse pointer isn't showed), the app consumes a significant amount of CPU resources (you can verify these details by opening Activity Monitor app).

To summarize, PinPoint is a handy Mac tool that provides you with a reliable solution whenever you need to locate the mouse pointer on your screen. The app is simple to use and configure, brings you various mouse pointer animations, and comes with a reasonable price.

No reason for it to have high computer usage.
