Info updated on:

Kindle for Mac is a book reading application by Amazon. It allows you to buy and read books offered through the Kindle service. You can access the whole library of books on the Kindle website and send them to your Kindle for Mac application automatically. The next time you open the application, the books will be waiting for you. Also, if you have a Kindle or an iOS device and have the Kindle app installed, you will be able to read your books on any of those devices.

Kindle allows you to buy books and send them directly to Kindle for Mac. But you can also download the beginning of books for free. These samples allow you to know what a book is about and read the first few chapters of them before you purchase.

Reading a book using Kindle for Mac is extremely simple. You can use the keyboard to browse through its pages or even the mouse scroll. You can add highlights and notes to any text. The search function is one of my favorites. It allows you to find any instance of your search query in the whole book. The search results show you a summary of the sentence where the text was found and you can go there by double-clicking the result.

All in all, this is a great app for reading books. There are over 700.000 books available for purchase, so you probably will find something you like.

I'm a Kindle user and this app is a must-have. Probably you won't read much using it, but it's really nice to have.
