Import any video to Apple TV, TV app, Plex, iTunes libraries, etc. Process the materials from DVD discs and similar sources requiring decoding and conversion. Attach artwork and metadata, confirm changes to the original files, preview the results, synchronize content, etc.

iVi Pro, or iVideo Importer, is a commercial video converter. It was designed to let you add any type of video to your iTunes library easily. As you may know, iTunes won't play any video files that are not encoded in formats that it supports. Those formats are MPEG-4, H.264, MOV and M4V for video. This may cause some problems because not all your videos are in those formats. Also, if you want to add video to your iPad or iPhone, you have to add the videos to iTunes first.

iVi Pro solves this by letting you drag a file into the application and automatically have it converted to the right format. iVi Pro will also download information about the video file that you are converting (if available) and format its name accordingly, so that iTunes knows what movie it is. If the file is HD, it will also add that to the name.

In my testing, I converted an MKV file, which was 720p in resolution and 1 minute long. I dragged it onto the iVi Pro window and clicked on "convert". The process lasted less than a minute and the file was automatically added to iTunes, from where I could play it with no problems. The app did get the name of the movie wrong, but that was probably because the original name wasn't right. more
