iDVD lets you create your own DVD to playback on the DVD players. The program allows you to create menus and the contents of your own DVD, so it looks very professional and no one needs to know you made it in your basement! There are over a hundred themes available and the program is extremely easy to use.

iDVD is a set of programs in iLife package. There is an iMovie application to edit and create cool movies from your clips. iPhoto program helps you to edit your pictures and add some cool effects to it. And, finally, iDVD will take the outcomes from iMovie and iPhoto and will create a DVD with custom menus and themes that can be played back nearly on all DVD players. You just need to make sure that DVD player supports DVD+/-R formats.

Please, keep in mind that you shouldn't run this program on your old Mac. It takes a lot of resources and your computer, as well as the program, would get extremely unstable and you can loose everything you work on. There are two tracks available for you through this program. The first one is to create your own project and do things manually (I guess it is made for advanced users, who want things their way only). On the other hand, even this advanced method limits the users to Apple produced themes and logic (Boooo!). The second one is what I was playing with - the easiest way to create a DVD. There are three rows. The first one lets you select a theme for your DVD, give it a title, and the last two rows let you either add pictures or movie clips to your movie. The rest of the hard work is done by iDVD. You can really make a professional looking DVD in just a few minutes. Just make sure that you tell your grandpa you've worked hard for days on that DVD for his anniversary.

This is a good DVD creation tool, however, on my old Mac it was quite unstable, but I could tell it has a great potential. With iLife's price of 50 bucks - the money will be well spent.
