Info updated on:

Freedom is a simple-to-use productivity utility designed for Mac users who wish to boost their work rate. This Menu Bar application blocks Internet access for a defined period of time and helps you stay focused on your assignments in a distraction-free environment.

You can work with this tool if you need to write an article, code for an application or study for an exam. By disabling the Internet access, you're no longer tempted (and allowed) to check your Facebook page, play a clip on video sharing websites, and much more.

The program allows you to set up the timer settings according to your needs. You can select the number of hours and minutes for the Internet blocking process from its main window.

Another important advantage is the fact that it uses a small amount of CPU resources while sitting on your Menu Bar (even when blocking Internet access uses minimum CPU resources).

The only thing that could possibly bother you about this tool is the fact that there's no option available for enabling Internet access. You need to wait for the timer to hit zero or restart your Mac.

Cutting a long story short, Freedom proves to be a helpful and efficient solution for boosting productivity. This program comes with easy-to-configure settings, sits quietly in your Menu Bar, and comes with an affordable cost.
