I've been using DiskCatalogMaker for several years now, over 10 in fact, and I still find it to be a reliable and simple solution to search any folders or files in a huge collection of hard drives. As a professional photographer, I couldn't ask for a better solution at this price point.
Ricaserpa, I'm looking for a comprehensive catalog report that can help you to identyfy duplicate rapidly (too) saved or versions on different HD.
Would this software be able to do that. There is little informations on the web and I could'nt find an example of a catalog done. Is is for example possible to ask for listing "folders" only ? Thanks for your help and petience being a non native English speaker.. not that easy to express my questions and thoughts A nice hello from Parma

I evaluated this program over an extended period of time. Catalogs created under trial were still available and functional after six months under trial. Very fast and easy to catalog many volumes. Excellent programming.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that catalog creation of root drive takes a couple hours because it includes every item. The ability to limit the scan to non-OS folders would speed up things considerably. If there is a way to do this, I haven't found it. A detailed and complete PDF instruction manual would be more helpful than the online barebones current version. Scanning external drives is very fast. But searching a catalog with millions of files is lightning fast and hands down the best I've ever used when compared to DiskTracker and NeoFinder. A few years ago I lost a few hundred files synced across 3 devices when a well known cloud storage provider (I won't mention which one) experienced a glitch. Tech support was unable to retrieve my files and the several dozen I didn't have backed up to offline storage were lost forever. Ever since then, I have completely avoided cloud storage, and since I keep files going back 30 years, I'm delighted to finally find something that works for me the way I want it to.
It is in an excellent helper for the management of the many external digital archives I with my research colleagues are dealing with. I know of no better other. We used to work with DiskTracker and were very happy with it. Fortunately this more than worthy successor DiskCatalogMaker is now available and also at a reasonable price.
I was looking for a way to catalog information on my many hard drives, I previously had used disk Tracker but this was no longer being updated and had gotten buggy in the new Mac O/S.
Glad Disk Catalog Maker arrived on the scene, it is doing the job and keeping me connected to my information.
