Info updated on:

This program was created, as its name clearly implies, for book collectors. Anyone who is dealing with a large book collection knows how it difficult it is to find out if a certain publication was borrowed or if it was purchased in the first place.

Book Collector gives you access to a user-friendly interface, a very powerful search tool, and solutions for managing a wishlist and keeping track of loaned books. You can use the built-in search utility to quickly find details about a book you own and import the missing info with just a few clicks.

In addition, you can print your book catalog or export it to your local directories, features which prove to be of good use if you want to share your collection details with other people.

The only thing I'd change would be to add the ability to organize book entries into groups. For example, I would have a category for all time favorites, another for books publicized in a foreign language, etc. It isn't a big deal, it's just a feature that might come in handy to people who are dealing with large book collections and wish to sort them more efficiently.

Still, Book Collector is one of the best tools I tested for inventorying publication collections. It's simple to handle, immediately gives you access to detailed information about your books, and enables you to store your catalog details on your Mac as well as in a Cloud account.
