Info updated on:

BoneBox™ - Hand is a Mac program created for medical students who are are looking for a fun and efficient way to study a human hand on their Macs. This application gives you access to a quality 3D representation of the human hand, offers you the names of its components, and lets you practice your knowledge by taking a test.

The utility provides you with a comprehensive help guide that teaches you what each button does, how to move the animated hand on the screen, and much more.

You can zoom in the hand representation, rotate it at any angle you like, and even draw lines over the image. The app lets you save the altered picture to your local directories in case you need to check it out later.

Furthermore, by clicking the Labels button from the left side of the screen you enable the Pins option. The program displays a pin on top of each hand component. If you click over a pin, it reveals the name of the element. You can add your own pins if you want to.

Another good thing is that you can toggle a full-screen mode. This feature comes in handy if you don't want to be distracted by anything else from your screen while you're studying.

To summarize, I think it's worth installing this free program on your Mac if you're a medical student.
