This program comes as an alternative to using Mac's Archive Utility for handling compressed data on your computer. Besides working with more file formats than Mac's default app, this utility also provides you with an actual interface, multiple output configurations, etc.

You can use this application to create, convert, and extract archive files on your Mac. The program works with formats like ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TGZ, BZ2, PKG, GZ, JAR, and many others.

To create an archive file, simply drag-and-drop the documents you wish to compress, select the preferred output options (output format and compression level), and the program will immediately take care of the rest. An advantage is that the app also features an option to encrypt the archive file.

To decompress or convert an archive file, just drag-and-drop the compressed file over the app's interface, choose the output format, and that's it. A disadvantage is that you need to download and install a third-party plugin in order to convert archive files to RAR format. Other than that, nothing bad can be said about this app. It does exactly what's being said on the homepage of the developer, without slowing down your Mac.

In conclusion, this program proves to be a smart addition to your collection of Mac apps if you work with archive files often. It's easy-to-use, supports batch processing, works fast, and comes with a reasonable price.
