This application can be used to convert MTS and AVCHD files into other formats, but it doesn't really restrict the formats that you can open, and its output format support is excellent. There are also no features intended specifically for the conversion of MTS files. So, basically, this is a generic video converter that you can use to convert your video files to other video and audio formats. There are a ton of video conversion profiles available, for Apple devices, smartphones, gaming consoles, and even Mac software like Final Cut Pro and QuickTime.
The graphical user interface is the standard GUI you are probably used to seeing in commercial video converters. There is a video player on the right, some on-screen instructions on how to use the app on the left, and a format selection drop-down menu at the bottom. From the toolbar at the top, you can access a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties. There is also support for text watermarks.
I tested this app with an AVCHD sample file that I downloaded from the Internet, and the conversion process to H.264 was smooth. The resulting file looked and sounded good.
