Aiseesoft iPad Converter Suite for Mac Platinum is a set of conversion tools. The Standard version of this app is already a very complete suite, but the Platinum version goes one step forward and includes even more features. The main difference between the Standard and Platinum versions is that the Platinum version comes with an iPad management tool that allows you transfer content from and to the iPad 2 without using iTunes. So, if you have bought the Standard version and don't need these new features, you probably don't need to buy the Platinum version.
This version comes with the iPad 2 Transfer app, as I mentioned above, and a DVD ripper and a video converter. With those tools, you can convert your DVD movies and the videos that are not supported by the iPad into H.264, MPEG-4, MOV, M4V and WebM files. Those are supported by the iPad 2 and the entire Apple line-up. Both applications come with a video editor and a video player. The editor lets you trim and crop your videos, adjust some of their properties and even add watermarks.
There are conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings, for the iPad, iPhone and iPod.
I have reviewed the apps that come in this suite in more detail, so you are welcome to read those reviews if you need more details about them. To those who don't want to read the older reviews, let me just state what I learned from testing those apps. They both work well, they both have support for GPU acceleration, so they are very fast, and the graphical user interface is good-looking.
