Aimersoft DVD Ripper is a commercial DVD ripper for the Mac. It is a very complete DVD ripping solution that allows you to copy DVD movies to your computer in a variety of formats. It comes with conversion profiles for lots of devices, including iPads, iPods, iPhones, gaming consoles, mobile phones, and portable video players.
When you launch the application, the app will load the DVD movie that you have in the DVD tray and automatically select the longest DVD title, which is often the main movie file. It will display it on the left part of the screen, along with some information like duration, name and estimated size after conversion. Next to this information (to the right), there is a button that will launch the conversion settings window. From here you will be able to choose the format and play with the settings.
If you want to enable subtitles, you need to go to the Media Information screen, from the Edit menu. There you will be able to select the subtitle language from a drop-down menu.
Aimersoft DVD Ripper comes with a trimmer, cropper, and a basic video editor.
In my testing, the app performed well enough. Subtitles worked well and the trimmer did a good job. Price-wise, at $31, this app is a little cheaper than its competitors.
